The Federal Supreme Court Rules: The Oil And Gas Law In Kurdistan Region Is Unconstitutional

Baghdad The Federal Supreme Court decided to rule the unconstitutionality of the oil and gas law in the Kurdistan region for violating the federal constitution.

It stressed during its special session on this matter: obligating the regional government to enable the Ministry of Oil and the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau to follow up on the conclusion of contracts for the sale of oil and gas in the region and obligating the regional government to hand over oil to the federal government represented by the Federal Ministry of Oil.

Today, the Federal Supreme Court began a session to decide on the (59 federal) case regarding the export of oil in the region outside the approval of the federal government.
