Baghdad The Dhi Qar Antiquities Inspectorate announced the completion of the first phase of the Sumerion project to develop the ancient city of Ur, by erecting walkways and electric vehicles.

The Director of the Inspectorate, Amer Abdel Razzaq, told Nasiriyah News Network: “The Italian UUP Bridge Organization implemented the first phase of the project with a period of six months.”

He pointed out: “This stage included erecting wooden corridors for visitors, establishing a water system and bringing electric vehicles to transport tourists from the city’s entrance to the ziggurat building.”
