The G7 Summit Calls For Building A Free International Order Based On The Rule Of Law

The Group of Seven summit (G7) called for building a free international order based on the rule of law.

In a statement, the G7 leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law and to continuing to support Ukraine and work towards achieving a world free of nuclear weapons.

The leaders of the group issued a joint statement after their summit in Hiroshima, Japan, on Ukraine, in which they stated that they reaffirm their unwavering support for Ukraine, and that they will continue to confront the negative effects of the war on the rest of the world, especially on the most vulnerable people.

The leaders of the group called on China to put pressure on Russia to stop the war in Ukraine, and at the same time, the statement stated that the G7 leaders are ready to build constructive and stable relations with China.

On nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, the statement stressed that the leaders are committed to achieving a world free of nuclear weapons through a realistic, pragmatic and responsible approach.

As for the global economy, the statement said that they will continue to closely monitor developments in the financial sector and stand ready to take appropriate measures to maintain financial stability and resilience of the global financial system.

On climate change, the statement stressed that the leaders will work together to reach a level of “zero greenhouse gas emissions” by 2050 at the latest, and that they will cooperate with developing countries to accelerate emissions reduction through various and practical paths, taking into account the circumstances of each country. / End
