The head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate chairs the work of the electoral conference for the syndicate’s branch in Al-Diwaniyah to choose a new administrative body

Baghdad Under the slogan (the sacrifices of our martyrs and the giving of our journalists), the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate / General Center held today the electoral conference for the syndicate’s branch in Al-Diwaniyah governorate to elect the president and members of the administrative body of the branch.

The work of the conference was chaired by the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Muayyad al-Lami, who gave a speech at the beginning of the conference in which he stressed the need to choose a new administrative body for the branch in order to improve the work of the branch and the importance of coordinating with journalists and media institutions in the governorate and following up on their issues.

Al-Lami also stressed that the Syndicate is keen to implement the Syndicate’s provisions and law to ensure the safety of media and professional work.

During the conference, the names of the attendees were checked and the nomination was opened during the conference to ensure transparency in this area. After the election and sorting process, Ahmed Abdel Hamza Al Shaibani won the chairmanship of the branch’s administrative body, while Turki Hammoud, Amin Al Hilali, Asmaa Jassem and Nazhan Farid won the membership, while the colleague Muhammad won Hussein Tarish as a first reserve, and our colleague Ahmed Abd Ali as a second reserve.

The work of the conference was attended by fellow members of the Syndicate Council.
