Baghdad The intelligence Agency mourned the assassination of one of its officers with the rank of colonel, east of Baghdad.

The intelligence Agency said in a statement received by the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the martyr Colonel Nibras Farman Shaaban was assassinated today, Monday, by cars carrying gunmen in Al-Baladiyat area, east of Baghdad.”

It added that the martyr was the Director of Rusafa Intelligence, and today he holds the position of Assistant Director of Monitoring in the Intelligence Agency,” noting that “the martyr resisted the armed group and exchanged fire with them, but a gunman in the second car, the pickup, carrying a Kalashnikov rifle, fired several shots at him that killed him at once.”
