The Interior Ministry Issues An Explanation Regarding The Incident Of Accusing An Innocent Citizen Of Killing His Wife

Baghdad The Ministry of Interior issued a clarification regarding the incident of accusing an innocent citizen of killing his wife.

The ministry said in a statement that “the ministry had a long history in criminal investigations into accidents and crimes that occur in various regions, and it did justice to many of the victims’ families and revealed mysterious incidents, and today it is following with great care the circumstances of the case of a citizen in Babylon Governorate who was accused of a crime of killing his wife and was not responsible for this matter.”

It added: “The details of the disappearance of this citizen’s wife were during his visit to one of the religious shrines, and he reported on this issue, but the individual actions initiated by one of the investigation officers were unprofessional and did not carry out police and moral work with anything, and the procedures were accompanied by judicial work, which led this case to take other aspects that were far from the record of the Ministry of Interior.

The ministry confirmed, “It followed this issue with great care and worked to form a high-level committee to restore the rights of the citizen and hold the negligent accountable so that they would be an example to others who carry out decentralized behavior,” indicating that “this committee will stand on the main reasons that prompted this officer to take these measures against an Iraqi citizen used the correct ways to report an incident that happened to him.”

The ministry stressed that this act will not pass without informing the public about the measures that will be taken against every abuse inflicted on this citizen, and it will stand up to date with the course of the investigation
