The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Announced Dismantling Of A Terrorist Cell Near The Iraqi Border

Baghdad The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell in the south of West Azerbaijan Province (northwest of Iran), and the killing of two of its members.

The public relations at the headquarters of “Hamza Sayyid al-Shuhada” of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated in a statement: “The forces affiliated with the headquarters of Hamza Sayyid al-Shuhada in the ground force of the Revolutionary Guards, entered into armed clashes, on Saturday, with a terrorist cell that includes evil elements opposed to the Islamic Revolution, who were about to infiltrate into the country through Piranshahr border crossing in West Azerbaijan province.

The statement indicated that “the clashes led to the killing of two terrorist elements of this cell,” stressing that “a quantity of weapons and ammunition in their possession were seized.”

It is noteworthy that the city of Piranshahr is located in the south of West Azerbaijan Province, and is adjacent to the northern Iraqi border.
