The Jordanian Football Association issued a statement saying: Based on the modest performance and results of the first national team participated in the joint qualifiers that did not live up to expectations, , the Executive Board of the Football Association met today, Wednesday, June 16, headed by His Highness Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, and decided to accept the resignation of the coach of the first national team, Vital Borkelmans, and his assistant, Stefan Vander Heiden.

The Jordanian national team left the Asian double qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup, with a 1-0 loss against Australia, in Group B in Kuwait on Tuesday.
Jordan’s balance froze at 14 points in second place behind Australia, which qualified for the third round of qualifiers after raising its score to 24 points from eight consecutive victories.
