Baghdad The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate denounced the US judiciary’s blocking of Iraqi media channels’ websites and the US authorities’ seizure of those websites, which confirms the American piracy in acquiring and confronting the free media.
The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate said, in a press statement, that “what the US government has taken in its illegal step confirms once again the falsehood of the slogans of freedom of expression and all the other headlines that promote it.”
The Syndicate indicated that while it condemns these practices, it calls for their non-repetition, which restricts freedom of media and expression and what the media around the world pursue in practicing their media work freely and without any pressures or restrictions, which is inconsistent with freedom of the media and democratic practices that the relevant international agreements emphasize.
