Baghdad The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate denounced the harassment of the media by some parties, which would restrict freedom of media and expression, as a violation of the provisions of the Constitution, stressing that the Syndicate will not allow such illegal practices to be repeated under any pretext.
The Syndicate condemned in a statement today the process of closing the office of Russia Today channel in Baghdad and arresting its correspondent, demanding his immediate release and cessation of such practices that intersect with the provisions of the Constitution, which affirmed freedom of opinion and expression and in line with the democratic trend in this field and the directives of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council in this regard.
