The Joint Operations Assure NINA Of Continuing Air And Intelligence Cooperation With The Int’l Coalition Away From Baghdad-Washington Agreement

Baghdad – The Joint Operations Command confirmed the continuation of air and intelligence cooperation with the international coalition.

The spokesman for the leadership, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The international coalition continues to support Iraq in the field of aviation, intelligence and equipment, far from the agreement between Baghdad and Washington regarding the withdrawal of combat forces from Iraq.”

He explained: “The work of NATO in Iraq is only related to training the Iraqi security forces, and there is no link between it and the international coalition to fight ISIS, as each one works separately to develop the Iraqi security system.”

He pointed out: “The Iraqi intelligence effort and security services are working hard to bring to justice the terrorist and criminal cells that target citizens, government institutions and diplomatic missions, the latest of which is the arrest of two terrorist networks responsible for the terrorist operation that took place in Sadr City.”
