Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi chaired today, Monday, the second session of the meeting of the Higher Committee for School Construction.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Kadhimi said: “Providing an appropriate environment for education and the conduct of the educational process begins first by providing appropriate school buildings in numbers that take into account the criterion of population density, and the priority of disadvantaged areas.”

The meeting discussed approving the optimal and most appropriate designs for buildings, facilitating the work of the committee in terms of providing land, and overcoming the administrative and routine obstacles that stand in the way of the project.

During the meeting, it was decided in principle to withdraw schools from the governorates that did not prepare the lands needed to build their own schools, and to make the priority of construction for the governorates that completed sorting plots of land and finished preparing them.

The Prime Minister directed the ministries and departments concerned to take all necessary measures, which would facilitate the implementation and follow-up of the project, and supervise the progress of implementation in the various governorates
