Baghdad Minister of Agriculture Abbas Jabr Al-Alawi discussed with a delegation from the Russian company Rostselmash for harvesting the
joint cooperation between Russian and Iraqi companies.

A statement by the ministry said that the two sides discussed areas of agricultural cooperation between Russian and Iraqi companies, cooperation in the field of agricultural mechanization, modern irrigation technologies, and the transfer and localization of agricultural technology between the two friendly countries.

Al-Alawi stressed that the Ministry of Agriculture’s plan is to move in the field of agricultural techniques, mechanization and modern irrigation methods, and to move away from traditional agriculture.

He indicated the ministry’s readiness to cooperate in all fields that would contribute to increasing productivity, both quantitatively and qualitatively, by using modern technology for agriculture.
