Baghdad The Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Muhammad Al-Khafaji, discussed with a number of date exporters the development of a scientific mechanism and the upgrading of dates.

A statement by the Ministry of Agriculture said that Al-Khafaji discussed with the exporters the development of a scientific and practical mechanism when carrying out export campaigns.

Al-Khafaji pointed out that the ministry is in direct contact with producers, exporters and farmers, for the purpose of addressing work obstacles as quickly as possible and bypassing routine through direct meetings, and that the dates sector is an important national wealth, pointing out that there are solutions and facilities that the ministry seeks to achieve by obtaining approvals from Ministerial Council of Economics.

Al-Khafaji listened to a number of exporters and producers about the mechanism of their work and methods of marketing for dates, and dealing with different types of them, and the processes of storage, fogging and processing, directed by the adoption of successful scientific and fundamentalist methods and the upgrading of marketing methods for consumers and for different countries.

Al-Khafaji urged all exporters to unite their efforts and pay attention to the production and export files, stressing that the ministry is continuing to protect the local product, including dates, in support of the national economy
