Baghdad Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nadhim discussed with Spanish Ambassador Pedro Martinez ways of cultural and tourism cooperation with Spain.

A statement by the Ministry of Culture stated that the minister received, today, Tuesday, the Spanish ambassador, and during the meeting, the importance of attention and advancement of the tourism sector at the national and international levels was emphasized, due to its important role in sustainable development, and this is what the World Tourism Organization seeks and its real commitment to support tourism.

The meeting also discussed opening prospects for cultural and academic cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Iraqi and Spanish universities.

For his part, the Spanish ambassador invited the Minister of Culture to visit the city of Cordoba in Spain to see the archaeological monuments of this ancient historical region.
