The Minister of Oil mourns “Barkindo”

Baghdad Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, mourned today, Wednesday, the former Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries “OPEC”, Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo, who passed away at dawn today.

“I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to the Ministers of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, to the family and relatives of the late, and to the Nigerian people,” he said in a statement.

He continued, “The late “Barrikendo” was a friend of Iraq and a lover of its people, keen to enhance the role of “OPEC” in stabilizing global markets, and in facing the challenges that afflicted the oil sector and the global economy.

The head of the Nigerian National Oil Corporation, Melle Kyari, announced today, Wednesday, the death of OPEC Secretary-General Muhammad Barkindo.
