Baghdad Minister of Planning Khaled Batal Al-Najm discussed with the Minister of Energy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Hala Jawad, the mechanisms of electrical interconnection between the two countries, and the establishment of the joint economic zone.
The Ministry of Planning said in a statement that the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / received a copy of it that during the meeting, which was attended by the Jordanian Ambassador in Baghdad, prospects for joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries were discussed, in light of the outcome of the tripartite summit of the leaders of Iraq, Jordan and Egypt which was held in Baghdad before the end of last June.
The two sides discussed the practical steps that have been achieved to complete the requirements of the bilateral electrical interconnection between Iraq and Jordan, and to strengthen the linkage between Jordan and Egypt.
The meeting also witnessed a review of the procedures related to the oil pipeline project, as well as completing the requirements for establishing the joint economic zone, and providing it with electric power from the Jordanian side.
