Iraq is participating in a delegation that includes three athletes, rower Muhammad Riyad, shooter Fatima Abbas and runner Taha Hussein. The participation of runner Dana Hussein, who was temporarily suspended due to suspicions of taking banned substances.
The Tokyo Games, which were scheduled last year, were postponed due to the Corona pandemic, to be held this year.
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi record in the Olympic Games is very poor and is limited to one bronze for weightlifter Abdul Wahid Aziz in the 1960 Rome Olympics.
