The Parliamentary Security Committee calls for implementing a set of measures to prevent the recurrence of security breaches

Baghdad The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee called on the government and the responsible security authorities in the Ministries of Defense and Interior and the Joint Operations Command to implement a set of steps and procedures to prevent the recurrence of security breaches.

Member of the committee, MP Hussein Al-Amiri, stressed, in a joint press conference, the need for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to restructure the security leaders, make changes in the operations sectors, and re-plan the security deployment in line with the nature of the stage and the seriousness of the conditions the country is going through at the present time of great challenges that impose carrying out security and military tasks in the interest of Iraq and its people.

Al-Amiri also called on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to take into consideration the task of preparing and arming the armed forces and equipping them with advanced weapons, night vision goggles, thermal cameras and securing the borders, stressing the need to continue striking terrorist hotbeds and sleeper cells in the sectors of the operations of Diyala, Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Nineveh and Anbar through the implementation of extensive security operations and preemptive strikes, activating the intelligence effort and air strikes by the army and air forces to destroy the hideouts and nets of the remnants of ISIS.

A member of the Parliamentary Security Committee called for vigilance and caution on the part of all members of the security services in the operations sectors and the Baghdad belt areas, and not to be lenient or lax, calling on the government to activate the security check for displaced specially those in displaced camps, specially al-Jadaa camp in Ninavah and stop the procedures of the return of ISIS from the Syrian al-Hol camp into Iraqi territory, because this matter carries a security threat that threatens the national security of Iraq.
