The Pentagon: North Korean missiles destabilize the region

Baghdad The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) confirmed that North Korea’s missile launches are destabilizing the region, after Pyongyang resumed firing ballistic missiles.

“The firing of these ballistic missiles continues to destabilize, and if they continue to do so, it will further destabilize the region,” Deputy Defense Ministry Spokesman Sabrina Singh told a news briefing.

“Our commitment remains strong to South Korea and Japan. We will always defend our allies and partners around the world and especially in the region,” she added.

The US State Department condemned North Korea’s recent missile test, describing it as a threat to the region and the international community.

Pyongyang has conducted a record number of missile tests this year, launching more than 50 missiles, both short and long-range, since December 25.
