Baghdad The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region confirmed that those gathered today in Al-Hanana in Najaf stressed the importance and necessity of continuing dialogue among the parties, and maintaining security and political stability in the country.
It said in a statement, that on the initiative of the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, today, Monday, a high-level political delegation consisting of Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, Vice President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Muhammad al-Halbousi, Speaker of Parliament, and Khamis al-Khanjar, head of the Sovereignty Alliance, visited the holy city of Najaf, where they met with Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadrist movement.
It added that the meeting discussed the political situation of the country, the next steps in the political process, and the problems facing it and views on the challenges and future stages were also exchanged.
The meeting stressed, according to the statement, the importance and necessity of continuing dialogue among the parties, maintaining security and political stability in the country, and forming a government capable of facing problems and challenges, and responding to citizens’ demands for better services and life.
