Baghdad The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received today, Monday, the Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi.
According to a presidential statement, they discussed the current developments in Iraq and issues of the region and the world.
The statement indicated that the importance of supporting constructive dialogue and communication in overcoming problems and obstacles, consolidating the principle of peaceful coexistence among all components and sects, protecting societal peace, and working to address all outstanding issues, especially the living conditions of citizens and their requirements.
The President of the Republic affirmed the importance of the role of clerics in strengthening ties, and working to strengthen the social fabric and enhance community security and peace.
