BAGHDAD – The United Nations Security Council is due to hold an emergency meeting on Monday in response to North Korea’s latest nuclear test.
“Japan, the United States and South Korea, as well as Britain and France, have made a joint request for an urgent meeting,” diplomatic sources at the United Nations said today.
While UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned North Korea’s nuclear test.
“This move constitutes a new and serious breach of North Korea’s international commitments and undermines international efforts to disarm and prevent nuclear proliferations,” Gutierrez said in a statement issued on Sunday.
