The Sheikh Of Al-Azhar: I Will Visit Iraq Very Soon

Baghdad The Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, announced that he will visit Iraq very soon, in response to the official invitations addressed to him.

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar praised, during his meeting with Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi, Iraq’s ambassador in Cairo, its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Iraq’s ability to defeat terrorism and overcome many of the challenges it has gone through and the steps it is taking to occupy its leading position in the Arab environment as one of the most important pillars of Arab security, stressing the standing of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on the side of all Iraqis in facing the challenges that target their unity, security and stability, welcoming the visit to Iraq very soon, in response to the official invitations addressed to him.

For his part, Al-Dulaimi stressed: “Iraq needs the efforts of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in the battle it is waging against terrorism and against attempts to fragment,” noting: “The voice of Al-Azhar reaches the hearts of Iraqis and all Muslims in the world because it is the voice of wisdom, reason and balance, and represents the essence of the true Islam, praising the spirit of moderation of the virtuous religious scholars of different sects.

He pointed out: “The Iraqi government is working to strengthen unity among the Iraqi people, establish relations with all Arab countries and neighboring countries, fight poverty, ignorance and backwardness, and achieve economic advancement and reconstruction that all Iraqis aspire to.”
