The Turkish Ministry of Interior announces that it has thwarted 130 armed attack attempts in the country during the past eight months

Istanbul The Turkish Ministry of Interior announced today, Monday, that it has thwarted 130 armed attack attempts during the past eight months of this year.

The Turkish Interior Ministry said in a statement: “Thanks to the intelligence work and the measures taken by the security forces, 126 attempted terrorist attacks by the PKK, 3 terrorist attempts by ISIS, and another by a leftist terrorist organization were prevented.”

It added that 120 of the terrorist attempts were through explosive materials, 8 through terrorist individuals or groups, and two attempts via car bombs or booby-trapped marches.

During the security operations, 235.7 kg of explosive materials, 443 weapons, 450 grenades, 216 mines and explosive devices, 3 tons, 819 kg of materials used in explosives, and 99,542 pieces of ammunition were seized.
