The Turkish MoD announces the killing of the fifth Turkish soldier today in confrontation with the PKK in northern Iraq

Istanbul The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that the fifth Turkish soldier was killed today in confrontation with militants of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the areas of operations in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense stated in a statement this evening, Saturday, that five Turkish soldiers were wounded in armed confrontation with Kurdish militants in the area of “lock down” operations in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense had announced earlier in the day, in two separate statements, the killing of three Turkish soldiers in confrontation with armed groups of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the area of the Claw Lock operations in northern Iraq.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish Defense had announced earlier the killing of six officers and 41 soldiers in its operations against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in northern Iraq since it began its operations on the eighteenth of last April.
