Baghdad The Darbandikhan Dam administration announced that the water level in the dam has decreased by more than 11 metres.
Director of the dam, Rahman Khani said, according to the website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan: “The water level in the dam has decreased by 11 and a half meters compared to last year,” noting that the dam has a water void of 1.5 billion cubic meters.”
Khani attributed this to the lack of rain and falling snow, in addition to the reduction in water releases coming from Iran in its dams on the Sirwan River, noting: “The percentage of water entering the Darbandikhan dam during the month of March was zero percent.”
