The winner of the world number one wins the gold in the men’s singles event

Baghdad German Alexander Zverev won the gold medal in the men’s singles tennis competitions at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, after defeating Russia’s Karen Khachanov 6-3 6-1 in the final on Sunday.

German Zverev appeared at a distinguished level during his Olympic career, defeating Hsun Lo, Daniel Galan, Nikoloz Basilashvili, Jeremy Chardy and Novak Djokovic before he finished Khachanov’s dream.

Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta won the bronze after beating Serbian Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 on Saturday.
