Turkey announces the killing of two of its soldiers in the Kurdistan region

Baghdad The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, the killing of two of its soldiers during the battles with the Kurdistan Workers Party, in the Kurdistan region.

The Ministry said in a statement, “Both (Savash Borlu) and (Harun Yildirim), were killed during the battles against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) within the borders of the region.”

It added, “Four other soldiers were wounded during these battles with the PKK, bringing the death toll of the Turkish army since the start of military operations in the Kurdistan region to 57.”

Earlier in the day, Turkish warplanes bombed Wadi Sifa in Jabal Matin, in Dohuk province, saying that “elements of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are taking it as a haven for them.”

It is noteworthy that Turkish planes and artillery bombard from time to time the positions of the PKK members in the Kurdistan region and Nineveh Governorate, causing material damage and sometimes civilian casualties and victims.
