Turkey announced today the success of its tests of the new Bayraktar (Kazal Alma) /Red Apple drone fighter.

The Turkish Defense Industries Company, Baykar, which manufactured it, stated in a statement today, Thursday, that the air tests of the drone fighter are still continuing, and that it has passed the flight and landing stage.

It added in its statement that the aforementioned test is the third of the drone fighter, and it took place in the Akanji Center in Tekirdag Province (west of the country).

It stated that the drone fighter reached an altitude of 20,000 feet during the last test.

The “Kazal Alma” is the first Turkish drone that was developed locally, and it succeeded months ago in carrying out its first flight in preparation for the implementation of combat operational missions.

The unmanned fighter (Kazal Alma) weighs 6 tons at take-off, and can carry a maximum of 1,500 kilograms of missiles and ammunition. It was also designed to use locally developed ammunition.

According to the manufacturer, the “Red Apple” is distinguished from drones by conducting lightning maneuvers and carrying out air-to-air combat missions, similar to those of conventional fighters.
