Turkish warplanes destroyed 11 targets to PKK in northern Iraq on Monday, the Turkish army said.

"Turkish fighter jets have been destroyed in raids in Qandil Mountains and Asus area in northern Iraq, fortifications, shelters and weapons sites belonging to the PKK," the Turkish chief of staff said in a statement.

The statement said: "The fighter jet targeted gunmen were preparing to launch an attack on the Turkish military posts and positions in the border."
