Turkish President visits US to attend UN meetings

Istanbul Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to head to the United States today, Sunday, to participate in the meetings of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Turkish Presidency Communication Department said, in a statement, that Erdogan will visit the United States to participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, for the period from 19 to 22 September.

The statement indicated that President Erdogan will participate in the opening ceremony of the “New Turkish House” building in New York, on Monday.

He stated that Erdogan will deliver a speech on Tuesday on the first day of the General Assembly, which will be held under the theme of building resilience through hope in order to overcome the Corona epidemic, rebuild sustainability, respond to the needs of the planet, respect human rights and revitalize the United Nations.

The Turkish presidency statement indicated that Erdogan will meet with a number of leaders of countries and governments, as well as United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres
