Turkish Security Forces Arrest 5 Daesh Suspects In Ankara

BAGHDAD, IRAQ – Turkish security forces arrested five members of Daesh organization of foreign nationalities who planned to launch attacks on New Year’s celebrations in an operation in the capital, Ankara.

According to Anatolia news agency, “the intelligence and counterterrorism staff followed five suspects who entered Turkey illegally, one of them Chechen, one Iraqi and three Syrians, and they intended to carry out attacks targeting the New Year celebrations.”

“Security forces raided two houses in the capital, arrested the five suspects, confiscated several identities, forged passports and documents,” the sources said.

The sources added: “The number of detainees can rise in light of statements that will be taken from the detainees.”
