Two MPs demand that security forces, government officials and diplomats be held accountable for their silence about Turkish forces’ violations of Iraqi lands

Baghdad MPs, Sarkot Shams El-Din and Ghaleb Muhammad Ali, demanded that security forces officials, government officials and diplomats be held accountable in Iraq because of their silence about Turkish forces’ violations of Iraqi lands.

They indicated in a joint statement that “the border guards of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Kurdish Peshmerga located in Penjwin and Dohuk stood idly by in front of the bombing of Turkish forces and their incursion into Iraqi territory, without finding any deterrence or resistance from those forces, which calls for accountability and accountability of those responsible for those forces for the reasons for this silence in the face of these attacks.”

They added that the House of Representatives should host Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein for his permanent silence on these attacks despite his knowledge and full awareness of this, in addition to summoning the Turkish Ambassador in Iraq to find out the reasons for this bombing and incursion, which is carried out unnecessarily burning orchards and agricultural crops.

The two MPs stressed the need for Turkey to observe the sovereignty of Iraq and stop its transgressions and its continuous incursion into Iraqi territory./
