Baghdad The United Arab Emirates expressed condolences to the leadership, government and people of Iraq for the fire that broke out in the Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) Teaching Hospital in Dhi Qar Governorate.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iraqi ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Muzaffar Mustafa Al-Jubouri, met today, Wednesday, the Emirati Minister of Culture and Youth, Nora Al-Kaabi, at the ministry’s headquarters. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister offered the UAE’s sincere condolences and sympathy to the leadership, government and people of the Republic of Iraq, for the fire incident that broke out in Imam Hussein Teaching Hospital in Dhi Qar Governorate.

According to the statement, the two sides discussed cultural cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance them and future joint initiatives, in addition to the latest developments of the project to revive the spirit of Mosul.

During the meeting, the minister stressed the depth of the relationship between the two brotherly peoples, noting the importance of culture in bringing points of view, spreading the values of tolerance and openness to the other and rejecting intolerance.

The Emirati minister also stressed that the project to revive the spirit of Mosul is one of the largest strategic cultural projects that the UAE is working on.

For his part, the ambassador expressed his aspiration to develop the cultural partnership and accomplish the civilized projects that are being worked on in Mosul, expressing his thanks to the UAE for its interest in cultural and knowledge heritage, stressing the importance of continuous communication and coordination of efforts with the aim of agreeing on future steps that would develop cultural relations.
