UN Says Millions Of Iraqi Displaced Returned To Their Areas


The spokesman of the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric announced, “The return of millions of displaced to their homes, which they left as a result of the war against Daesh,”

“3.2 million Iraqis have returned to their areas,” Dujarric said in a press release, noting that “Iraqi IDPs who have returned in recent months extensively to Anbar, Nineveh and Salahuddin provinces, present 82 % of all returnees.

A report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that the rate of return of displaced persons forced to move inside Iraq is increasing after the completion of the massive military operation against Daesh organization and its defeat.
