Baghdad The United Nations Mission in Iraq / UNAMI / issued a report on the assassinations of activists in Iraq.

The UNAMI report stated: “48 incidents of assassination of protesters carried out by unknown elements were documented, and more than 20 demonstrators are still unaccounted for.”

The report added: “The investigation into the assassinations did not go beyond the investigative stages, and those involved in the assassinations often escape punishment.”
