Baghdad Washington confirmed that the International Atomic Energy Agency should be allowed to monitor Iran’s activities as indicated in the agreement that was recently extended until June 24 in order not to undermine talks to revive the nuclear agreement.
“We strongly encourage Iran to avoid any action that would prevent the collection of information or allow the Agency access to information necessary to quickly verify once again the continuity of knowledge,” a US statement said during a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 35-nation Board of Governors.
“Any such action would at least seriously complicate ongoing efforts to reach an understanding of how Iran could return to compliance with its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the 2015 nuclear deal) in exchange for a similar resumption by the United States,” the statement added.
