Baghdad The Ministry of Water Resources confirmed, on Thursday, that the levels of the Tigris River are stable, and there is no truth to their height.
A Ministry statement said, “Some social media and media sites circulated a recorded video clip showing the increase in water releases from the Tigris River in Tikrit. In this regard, the Ministry of Water Resources confirms that what was seen during the video clip is due to the rise in water levels in flood seasons for previous years.”
The statement continued, that the levels of the Tigris River are almost constant, and this is due to the operational policy adopted by the Ministry of Water Resources for dams and lakes to meet all water needs in accordance with scientific plans prepared in advance, despite the conditions of water scarcity and the impact of climate changes that the whole world and the country in particular are going through.
