Zaidan stresses the importance of securing the border crossings and the border strip, and the provisions of control over all goods imported into the country

Baghdad Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, received today, Wednesday, the Head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, at the headquarters of the Supreme Judicial Council.

The Head of the Supreme Judicial Council stressed, according to the Council’s statement, the need to secure the border crossings and the border strip and to control all goods imported to the country from fraud or manipulation of public money and to ensure the examination of all goods, praising the measures taken by the cadres of the Border Ports Authority in controlling smuggling operations and manipulation of public money, especially protecting the local product and preventing the passage of any materials unfit for human consumption.

It was also emphasized that efforts would continue to be made to apprehend violators and to impose the maximum penalties against them under the law, noting that the file of border crossings witnessed a remarkable change under the current administration of the port authority.

For his part, the head of the authority gave a presentation on the work of the authority and the most prominent operations carried out by the cadres of the border port authority, and presented a complete summary of the electronic auditing mechanism approved at all border crossings, through which many fraud operations were seized and smuggling and waste of public money was prevented.
