An earthquake hits southern Iran

Baghdad An earthquake measuring 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale hit the city of Zarand in Kerman Province, southeast of Iran, at 6:46 pm today, Thursday.

The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University reported that the earthquake occurred at the confluence of longitudes 6:56 east and latitude 30:85 north, at a depth of 10 km from the surface of the earth.

It added that the closest areas to the tremor in Kerman province were Zarand, 5 km away, Yazdanshahr, 21 km, and Khanok, 22 km away.
