Al-Baiji Calls On The Govt To Contract With Int’l Companies To End The Electricity Crisis

Baghdad The independent MP, Mansour Al-Baiji, called on the government to contract with sober international companies in order to end the electricity crisis that the country goes through annually and has become a major problem, and millions of dollars have been wasted on it because of corruption, but we did not reach a solution to end this problem.

He pointed out in a statement that all the governorates of Iraq suffer from the electricity crisis, which has become a major problem, and no government has been able to end it during the previous period, and to this day we suffer from this crisis due to the lack of a real will on the part of all the governments that run the country to end this problem and provide electricity like all neighboring countries.

He said that the failure to find a permanent solution to end the electricity crisis has led all the Iraqi people to frustration and lack of credibility with any government that takes over the administration of the country because of the recurrence of this problem, and there is no solution other than media statements and patchwork solutions that are useless except to push the crisis to overcome the summer and the scorching heat in order to absorb street anger.

Al-Baiji added that electric energy is the lifeblood of the country. And if there is credibility with the government, it must quickly go to bring in international companies to build a new system for the dilapidated electric power in Iraq. This matter does not require effort and complicated procedures if there is a serious intention of the government to end the suffering of the people who have suffered so much, and this matter cannot continue further.
