Al-Halbousi, Jordanian King Discuss Ways To Strengthen Bilateral Relations And Joint Cooperation

 

Baghdad Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi met today, Sunday, with Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.

Al-Halbousi welcomed King Abdullah II, pointing to the importance of continuing joint cooperation between the two brotherly and neighboring countries.

Al-Halbousi praised the Kingdom’s supportive stances for Iraq, stressing the legislative authority’s support for the tripartite Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation to serve the common interests.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and joint cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and investment, and the importance of accelerating the implementation of strategic projects such as joint industrial cities, energy projects and electrical interconnection. The meeting also discussed cooperation in the security field, combating terrorism and extremist ideology, and working to enhance stability in the region.

King Abdullah affirmed his country’s full support for preserving the security and sovereignty of Iraq, and standing by it to achieve stability, expressing his happiness at visiting Baghdad.
