10 Million Tourists Visited Iraq Last Year, Reports Culture Ministry

Baghdad:Fadhil Al-Badrani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, announced that 10 million tourists visited Iraq during the past year, 2025.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Badrani stated that the statistics on tourist entries are officially recorded at the national center, the Ministry of Interior, border crossings, and airports. This data is then forwarded to the Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities.

He noted that while tourism activity in 2026 has been sluggish globally and regionally due to security conditions and challenges, the situation in 2025 was different and highly positive. Iraq saw an influx of approximately 10 million tourists, with visitors coming for both heritage and religious tourism.

Al-Badrani emphasized the significance of this figure compared to previous years.
