Washington: The Gun Violence Archive, a non-governmental organization, announced that the number of deaths in shootings across the United States during Independence Day celebrations reached 100.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the organization stated in a post on the social networking site X that “the number of shootings during the Independence Day holiday in the United States reached 20 incidents, a record high since 2021.”

It added that “the incidents resulted in the deaths of 100 people and injuries to 340 others over three days,” noting that “this data is preliminary and may be revised later.”

The United States celebrated its 250th anniversary on July 4th.
