Baghdad: A 2.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Iraqi-Iranian border, as announced by the Meteorological Authority. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated in a statement that its seismic observatories recorded the earthquake on the evening of Sunday, April 6, 2025. The quake was located approximately 47 km east of Khanaqin District in Diyala Governorate. It further clarified that the earthquake was not felt by the citizens. The Authority called on citizens to avoid false news and rumors and adhere to seismic instructions.
