Sharm el-sheikh: Egypt will host a high-level international summit in Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday, with the participation of more than 20 world leaders, aiming to reach an agreement to end the war in Gaza and promote peace and regional stability in the Middle East. The Egyptian presidency announced that the summit will be co-chaired by Egypt and the United States, with the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the United States Department of State has sent invitations to several countries, including Spain and Iran. The French presidency confirmed the participation of President Emmanuel Macron, while the governments of Spain and Italy announced that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S¡nchez and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will also attend.

The office of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he will travel to Egypt to participate in the summit, noting that he will commend Washington's role as well as the mediation efforts led by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey to reach the agreement. Starmer is expected to call for strengthening international coordination to implement the next phase of the agreement, which includes deploying a mission to monitor the ceasefire and forming a transitional government in Gaza.

Leaders and foreign ministers from Germany, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia are also expected to take part in the summit, which aims to rally broader international support for Trump's peace plan amid unresolved issues related to post-war governance in Gaza, security, and reconstruction.

Trump is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday morning, where he will deliver a speech at the Knesset and meet with families of Israeli hostages. Later that day, he will travel to Egypt to meet President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and attend the official signing ceremony of the ceasefire agreement, alongside other guarantor states of the peace plan.
