Karbala: The Karbala branch of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society has mobilized 2,000 members and volunteers from 14 branches to deliver crucial ambulance and medical services during the Arba’een commemoration of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the branch set up eight fixed and mobile medical units to extend medical aid in the city center, as well as in the districts of Hindiyah and Ain al-Tamr. The initiative included the deployment of twenty-five ambulances, staffed with medical personnel and fitted with up-to-date equipment and medications. These ambulances were strategically placed in the city center and along key routes connecting to Baghdad, Najaf, and Babylon governorates, as well as across streets and public squares, to facilitate the transportation of emergency cases to health centers and hospitals. This operation was carried out in coordination with the city’s health department.

Additionally, the Society opened seven centers for missing persons, four of which are located within the city, while the remaining three are positioned along the city’s main routes. These centers are equipped with communication devices and identification badges to assist children and the elderly. To support the processions and service organizations, five water tankers were also deployed to ensure the provision of potable water.
