Baghdad: A new batch of Iraqi families returned from Al-Hol Camp in the Syrian province of Hasakah to Iraq on Thursday, as part of joint coordination between the Iraqi government, the International Coalition Forces, and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Al-Hol Camp Administration stated that 233 Iraqi families, totaling 812 individuals, were evacuated from the camp. This coordinated effort involved the International Coalition Forces, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and the Iraqi government.

This marks the twenty-eighth batch of Iraqis who have left Al-Hol Camp, with these families heading to Al-Jad’a Camp within Iraqi territory. The administration also indicated that more people wishing to leave the camps in North and East Syria are scheduled to be evacuated in the coming period.

The Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced that approximately 16,000 Iraqi citizens have been returned so far from Al-Hol camp, as part of a government plan to permanently close this file.
