Baghdad, The Civil Defense Directorate announced the rescue of 3 women and a child, and the recovery of the body of a handicapped person, who was burned in a house in Basra Governorate.It said in a statement that “its teams rescued three women and a child who were trapped by fire inside their burning house in Abi al-Khasib area in Basra governorate, while they recovered the body of an elderly man with a handicap, who was not able to escape from the fire, and died as a result.The statement added, “The civil defense teams rushed to the site of the accident and, upon their arrival, began to conduct rescue operations in conjunction with the implementation of extinguishing operations, so that the teams provided first aid and pulmonary resuscitation to the injured as a result of inhalation of the products of the fire,” noting that “the body was handed over to the forensic medicine department in accordance with legal procedures.
